Ingredients:
- Steak of your choice
- Gambas (large prawns)
- Pepper and onions, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Garlic, minced
- Chilli powder, to taste
- Mixed herbs, to taste
- Oil, for frying
- Butter, for frying
- Milk, a splash
- Flour, a tiny bit
Instructions:
Prepare the Vegetables:
- Step 1: Chop the pepper and onions.
- Step 2: Season with salt and pepper.
- Step 3: Cook in oil on medium heat until softened. Set aside.
Cook the Steak:
- Step 1: Prep the steak by covering both sides with oil, salt, and pepper.
- Step 2: Fry on high heat for just under two minutes per side for a medium-rare steak.
- Top Tip: Allow the steak to rest for as long as you’ve cooked it.
Prepare the Thai Gambas:
- Step 1: Season the gambas with salt, minced garlic, and chilli powder.
- Step 2: Fry in butter on medium heat until cooked. Set aside.
Prepare the Creamy Garlic and Herb Sauce:
- Step 1: In a pan, add butter and minced garlic with a splash of milk. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Step 2: Add a tiny bit of flour to thicken the sauce slightly.
- Step 3: Add mixed herbs and stir continuously until you reach your desired thickness.
Serve:
- Step 1: Place the rested steak and cooked gambas on a plate.
- Step 2: Serve with the cooked vegetables and a generous drizzle of the creamy garlic and herb sauce.
- Step 3: Enjoy your homemade Surf n Turf with a delightful sauce!
